9-1-1 Emergency Communications Technician I
Salary: $33,509 - $44,470/yr
Requirements Include: THIS POSITION IS TO ESTABLISH A ROSTER OF ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE VACANCIES.
PRIORITY REQUIREMENTS: MUST COMPLETE THE DATA ENTRY TEST GIVEN BY CAPITOL AREA MICHIGAN WORKS WITH 35 WPM PROFICIENCY AND 90% ACCURACY. DATA ENTRY RESULTS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH CITY OF LANSING JOB APPLICATION TO BE FURTHER QUALIFIED FOR THIS POSITION.
APPLICANTS ARE SUBJECT TO A COMPLETE LANSING POLICE DEPARTMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION DURING THE HIRING PROCESS, ALONG WITH A CREDIT AND CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD CHECK. MUST NOT HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY FELONY CHARGES.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK DIFFERENT SHIFTS, TO INCLUDE WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. THESE SHIFTS PERTAIN TO A 24 HOUR/ 7 DAY 365 DAYS PER YEAR SCHEDULE.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of college level coursework in Criminal Justice, Fire Science, or Emergency Medical Services, or two (2) years experience working in a 911 Communications Center or in a high volume customer service center environment. Seeking candidates experienced in call taking techniques, stress management, criminal law and crisis intervention. Also seeking candidates with prior military experience. Must pass each phase of testing, to include a spelling test, an extensive video comprehension, multi-situational test, and oral interview to advance to the hiring phase of the selection process.

Seasonal Maintenance Worker
Salary: $11.99/hr
Requirements Include: Applicant selected to fill this position may be required to use a respirator in the performance of their job duties and would have to pass the Respirator Certification Examination.
Applicant selected to fill this position may be required as a condition of employment, to participate in an employer paid Hepatitis B inoculation program.
High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent training and experience performing heavy manual labor tasks requiring operation of a variety of manual and mechanical equipment. Must have a valid operator's license and be able to operate standard transmission vehicles. CDL License preferred.
Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, hearing, visual acuity and the ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 95 pounds occasionally.
Water Safety Instructor - Temporary Position
Salary: $10.00/hr
Requirements Include: Work schedule could include weekend and evening hours, must be flexible. Current certifications; water safety instructor, lifeguard training, standard first aid and CPR for the professional rescuer.
Must be at least 17 years of age.
This postion requires the ability to: swim, walk, run, throw, speak, hear, sit, stand, stoop, lift ten (10) lbs regularly and twenty (20) lbs or more occasionally, carry, bend , twist, reach, jump from a lifeguard chair and pool deck, dive, ability to move quickly, blow a whistle, visual acuity, manual dexterity, and grasping.
Activity Leader I - Temporary Position
Salary: $8.00 per hour.
Requirements Include: High school diploma or GED. Previous experience working in a group setting, leading activities preferred.
This position requires the ability to work weekends and evening hours.
This position requires the ability to walk, speak, and hear, lifting ten (10) lbs regularly and twenty (20) lbs occasional, carry, finger dexterity, participate in activities such as running, skipping, jumping, throwing, and visual acuity.
Lifeguard - Temporary Position
Salary: $7.75/hour

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Requirements Include: This position requires a work schedule that may include weekend and evening hours. The ability to oversee the direction of; sports, pools, ice skating, tennis, and Therapeutic Recreation.
Must be at least 18 years of age. Some supervisory experience preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age. Previous knowledge of the sport you are officiating preferred. Sport could include baseball, softball, volleyball, floor hockey, football, and soccer. These are youth or adult sporting event.

Sport Officials - Temporary Position
Salary: $4.00/per game minimum
Requirements Include: This postion requies a work schedule that may include weekend and evening hours.
Must be at least 14 years of age. Previous knowledge of the sport you are officiating preferred. Sport could include, baseball, softball, volleyball, floor hockey, football, and soccer. These are youth sporting event.

Requirements Include: This position requires a work schedule that may include weekend and evening hours. Tennis and Leadership skills required.
Must be at least 17 years of age. Previous Tennis Instructor experience preferred.
